Here is a little bit about what Patsy has to say about being here at Bodyshop X!

I started this program in Jan 2017.  Coming into a gym was not what I wanted to do. With the support and help of my daughter and husband starting with me, we tried to come 3 days a week.  The staff put us into our own group for beginners, this was wonderful.  Through the help and encouragement of the staff we enjoyed going.  Over the year my husband started working different hours and my daughter became pregnant.   At that point I thought about leaving too.  Thanks to the staff at Bodyshop X I have continued trying to get a workout in 3 days a week.  The best news is my cholesterol.  I have been on medication for years which brought my cholesterol down to 250, but this month my blood work has my cholesterol at 173, and I have lost weight as well.  Other then the exercise and occasional dieting I feel this drop in cholesterol has come from the workouts at Bodyshop X.

Jason, Alli and Matt, thank you so much for all you have done.  You all make this a family and a fun way to exercise.

How long have you been working out at Bodyshop Athletics X? Almost 3 years

What is your favorite food? Burgers

What is your favorite exercise? Snatches

Did you have any goals? How have you accomplished them? When I started weightlifting, I definitely didn’t think I would be where I am today. As the first year went by and I started to get stronger and have better form, my goal was definitely to go to Youth Nationals. I was very happy to actually qualify and participated in The Youth National Championship in 2016. The fact that I placed in the top 5 was a huge achievement. And now this year, I had hoped to set a new American record, however, it did not happen. To get where I am today and achieve some of my goals, I had to and still have to work and try my best at practices and competitions.

Why is working out important to you? What keeps you motivated to pursue health? Working out is important to me because it keeps me healthy and it is fun to do. The fact that I have friends (my weightlifting family) at the gym definitely makes going to the gym a lot more fun. This is partly what motivates me to go to the gym. But the bigger motivation is that weightlifting is so much fun. When I get to the gym, I CANT wait to start lifting.

What is one of your favorite or most memorable moments so far at Bodyshop Athletics X? I don’t know what my favorite or most memorable moment at Bodyshop has been. I mean gosh, there have been so many. One of them is definitely a singlet saturday when I snatched 60kg. That was a big moment for me. I have been trying to hit 60 for months, and it is a unofficial American record.

How would you describe your experience at Bodyshop Athletics X to a friend? I would describe my experience at BodyshopX to a friend as fun, but hard. All of the trainer have pushed me to do my best and to use everything every bit of my energy to get through the workout. The trainers and the people who train there are all nice, fun people. I always have had a ton of fun at every training session.

Is there anything you would like to mention? Nope.

How long have you been working out at Bodyshop Athletics X? 8 months

What is your favorite food? There can't be just one! Some of my favorites are watermelon, sushi, and (yikes) french fries.

What is your favorite exercise? Kettlebell Swings

Did you have any goals? How have you accomplished them? Fit by 40! Well, I should have started before January given that I turn 40 in November. However, I have definitely made progress since starting at BodyShop. I'd gained lots of weight over the past 12 years. I've lost some weight, and I can definitely see more muscle definition. I'm stronger, and I feel better!

Why is working out important to you? What keeps you motivated to pursue health? As a working mom and wife, I am always busy. I've made excuses for so long about why working out during the school year just doesn't fit in my schedule. I am so thankful that I finally decided to make a change. I love that my children see that I am making efforts to be physically healthy. The Bodyshop family makes exercise fun...even at 5:00 in the morning! I enjoy the results that I can see and feel, and I know that consistency is crucial. I look forward to continued weight loss and feeling stronger and better!

What is one of your favorite or most memorable moments so far at Bodyshop Athletics X? My favorite moments at Bodyshop include all the times that I am able to do something that I previously couldn't do! Of course, it's the laughs and all of the encouragement that make it fun.

How would you describe your experience at Bodyshop Athletics X to a friend? Bodyshop is a place where fellowship and training merge to keep me motivated! I've never felt intimidated or worried about what I couldn't do. I love being in an environment where others push to do as much as they can while encouraging others to give their best. Bodyshop is what works for me, and I love finishing our workouts in a time of prayer. Getting out of bed for 5 am workouts is tough for me, but it's always worth it once I walk in the door of Bodyshop!
